After some intense summer training at home in Hawaii, we made it our first event of the summer! I soon learned to avoid the stingrays and sea weed, while keeping an eye out for the seals! Training and racing in Long Beach was amazing and I was so excited to test my skills against other sailors like Mariana from Mexico after she placed 8th at the world championships. I learned so many valuable skills in Long Beach from light wind pumping to perfecting my starts and it all paid off after I placed 2nd in the Women's fleet! Can't wait to come back!
