This was my first time in Clearwater, Florida and we had some funky conditions. We did a lot of waiting and when the wind kicked in, it was strong. I had a lot of fun training in these wavy conditions despite my fear of sharks (which I saw a lot of here). When it came to the races I was really disappointed and frustrated because on every start I hit seaweed which really slowed me down. It was really frustrating to see everyone pass you when there was nothing I could do and I feel like I wasn't able to showcase my best sailing. Despite the seaweed issue, I definitely improved my light wind sailing skills and I'm even more excited to prove myself at the next event.
